Cookies on Kinshare

Version 2026-10-18.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to keep and send back on your next visit. It lets a site remember a choice you made, such as your county, without asking again. Cookies do not run programs and cannot read your files.

The cookies Kinshare sets

The public site (kin-share.org) sets only these, and only when you do the thing that needs them:

None of these is used for advertising or shared with anyone.

Google Analytics cookies

Only if you choose Allow, the public site loads Google Analytics, which sets the cookies _ga and _ga_ followed by our site ID. They count anonymous visits so we can see which pages help people and improve Kinshare. Google says they last up to two years. We never send your searches, and we send sensitive help pages and listing pages only as a general category. Before you choose Allow, nothing is loaded from Google. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat that as Don’t allow and do not ask.

Changing your choice

Use the Cookies link at the bottom of any page to see the question again. Choosing Don’t allow stops Google Analytics and deletes the _ga cookies. You can also delete cookies at any time in your browser’s settings; the site still works without them.

The portal

The member portal (app.kin-share.org) uses no cookies to sign you in. It keeps your sign-in in your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you sign out or close the tab.

For everything else about your information, see our Privacy Policy. Questions go to support@kin-share.org.
