COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS OF HOUSTON INC empowers students to stay in school and achieve in life through community support. They provide academic, mental health, and career readiness services to Houston students facing barriers to success. Services: one-on-one mentoring and individual academic support; workshops for resumes, college apps, financial aid; mental health services; financial and computer literacy classes for parents; student emergency clothing and hygiene items; preventative dental services; mobile dental van program; dental screenings, diagnostic imaging/x-rays, extractions, fluoride varnish; nutritional counseling; job readiness, career preparedness, life and leadership skills; legal internships; healthcare internships; energy exploration programs; mental health professional exposure.
