Privacy and cookies
The short version of how Kinshare treats the information you and your clients put in it. The full texts are the Privacy Policy, the Terms of Service and the Cookies page.
What Kinshare never keeps
Kinshare holds no health information. Don’t type any of these anywhere in Kinshare: health or medical details, Social Security numbers, card or bank account numbers, government ID numbers, immigration status or passwords. Kinshare refuses a note, form or file that holds one and tells you which kind it found. Every free-text box that can be about a client carries a reminder.
Who sees client information
- Your clients’ records belong to your organization. Other organizations can’t see them.
- Information leaves your organization only under a consent the client gave, only to the organizations it names, and only the kinds of information it ticks.
- Every time someone opens a client record, it’s written to an access log that nobody can edit. Your organization’s privacy officer can read it.
- Emails from Kinshare never carry a client’s name or details. They tell you something happened and link you to sign in.
- Dashboards and funder share links show totals only, and hide any count under 5.
Leaving Kinshare
An organization administrator can download everything the organization holds under Staff access, in Our data. The same place lets you ask us to delete it all. There’s a 30-day hold in case you change your mind; you can cancel from the Today page. The access log is kept, as the law requires.
Cookies on the public site
The public site sets a few small cookies, only when you do the thing that needs them, such as choosing your county. The Cookies page lists each one.
If we use anonymous visit counts, the site first asks Allow cookies? Nothing is sent to anyone until you choose Allow. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we take that as no and don’t ask. You can change your answer any time with the Cookies link at the bottom of every page.
The staff portal, where client work happens, never carries visit counting.
