Proyecto Desarrollo Humano is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2004 to serve isolated colonias in western Hidalgo County. They provide health, education, and social services to individuals and families living at or below the poverty level who are isolated from society due to language barriers, poverty, and immigrant status. Services: Health services (clinic with limited medical and dental care); Zumba Exercise Class; Nutritional Education; Diabetic Counseling and Education; Mental Health Support; ESL Classes for Adults; After School Tutorials with Computer Access; Summer Program #1; Summer Program #2; Sewing, Arts and Crafts; Tienda De Segunda (Thrift Store); Leadership and Community Building Training; Home and Community Improvement Activities; Community Garden.
